The ping-pong protest “Earth’s Rally” was a public performance piece, designed to visually demonstrate the causes of climate change. Information sourced from earth.org was artistically redistributed across ping-pong bats and balls.
During the rally, hand-painted ping-pong balls were struck by bats labelled “Fossil Fuels”, “Plastic”, “Humans” and “Food Waste”. Each player was assigned a specific cause, with the “Earth” balls being forcefully hit towards the opposing team as if responsibility was being passed from one cause to another.
The event’s interactive nature and visual symbolism represented the ongoing conflict between human activity and the planet’s health. By staging “Earth’s Rally” in a public space, I aimed to attract attention and encourage reflection among onlookers.
