TARNISH THROUGH TYPOGRAPHY
Supervised by: Ariel Aguilera
The publication follows a protagonist moving through the suburb, gradually becoming consumed by the need to leave their own mark by tagging a wall. An observer appears throughout the publication, documenting the time and events from the bottom corner of each page, reflecting my own experience of exploring Richmond during the project.
Typography and mark-making are central to the publication, using graffiti, rubbish and overcrowding to explore how human behaviour can alter a suburb with such a rich history.
